Wesley's was established in October 2020 to provide a safe and welcoming community space during the COVID pandemic, opening fully as a café and community hub in May 2021.
Run by Launchpad in partnership with Temple Methodist Church, Wesley's combines community outreach with employment skills training in catering and hospitality for young people and adults with learning challenges. The partnership supports the church's mission while offering trainees a safe, supportive workplace at the heart of the community.
Now a thriving café and community space, Wesley's is popular with locals and visitors alike. It offers a simple, high-quality menu from the Launchpad Kitchen team, including homemade soups, cakes and Devon's finest scones. The accessible hall and sheltered garden provide welcoming spaces to meet and relax year-round.
Open Monday to Saturday, 9am–4pm, just steps from Budleigh seafront, Wesley's welcomes everyone – including well-behaved dogs – to enjoy food, drink and a wide range of regular activities such as lunch clubs, support groups, community suppers and live music.
Wesley's also hosts the Budleigh Community Larder and a small social supermarket in partnership with Exmouth Foodbank, helping reduce food waste and support people facing food insecurity, alongside a free meals scheme for vulnerable families during school holidays.
